The Uranus Building (Chinese: 天王星大樓; pinyin: Tiānwángxīng dàlóu) is a partially collapsed ten-story tower building in Hualien City, Hualien County, Taiwan. The building was constructed in 1986 and houses shops and apartments.[1][2]
The building was damaged in the 2018 Hualien earthquake. It was placed on a "yellow list" due to the damage and the building was fully repaired.[1]
The building was again heavily damaged on 3 April 2024 during the 2024 Hualien earthquake, which left the building tilted over at a 25-degree angle. The building will likely be demolished.[3][2][4] It was one of two tower buildings that were leaning due to the earthquake,[2] next to other damaged buildings including the National Hualien Girls' Senior High School.[5]
